Canada, Let the Bells Ring
Poem by Laura and Timothy Piper Higher Part Every day in this vast open space We are awed, we are struck by its natural grace And its beauty inspires all our dreams We are home, we are proud, we are free. Every day we are glad to be home, But there’s somebody new who feels all alone. And we try to make sure they’re not scared. And we try not to be unaware. Canada, let the bells ring. Canada, take time to sing. Canada, let the leaf fly, Let it wend its way thither and nigh. Canada let the leaf glow, As it twists and it turns, let its freedom o’erflow, Canada, roll out the drums. Wear your colours with pride in this new millennium. Every day in our quest to be free, There is someone who’s not where they need to be. So we work at opening doors, As we look to find ways to help those still ignored. Every day in our quest to be true, Our soldiers have died for me and for you. So we honour their memory each day, As we teach our kids to show love whilst they play. Every day Govern with care As we look to find common ground in-between Canada Let the bells ring Take time to sing Let the leaf fly. Every day we are called to be great. We learn and we grow and we build, we create. And we’re leading the world on its way, As we look to the future and seize each new day. Canada Let the bells ring Take time to sing. Let the leaf fly. Glow, flow. Canada, roll out the drums. |
